Urgent caries / pulpitis treatment

For severe pain or a large cavity we act immediately: anesthesia, decay removal, endo steps when needed, and a tight temporary closure until the definitive visit.

What we do at the first emergency visit

  • Diagnostics: exam + targeted RVG if indicated.
  • Anesthesia: topical/nerve block/STA - fast and comfortable.
  • Caries therapy: removal of infected dentin, rubber dam isolation.
  • If pulpitis/periodontitis: access, canal medication/cleaning, temporary closure.

Why start immediately

  • To stop pain and avoid complications.
  • To localize infection and reduce swelling.
  • To preserve tooth structure and avoid extraction.

FAQ

Will pain relief be immediate?
Yes. We anesthetize and perform procedures that bring the fastest relief.
Do I always need root canal therapy?
No. For early/medium caries a filling is enough. Endo is needed when the nerve is involved (pulpitis) or canals are infected (periodontitis).
What happens between visits?
We place a tight temporary filling; it’s important to return for completion on time.
Why two visits sometimes?
To better control infection and ensure a stable outcome.
