Aftercare
- Bite on gauze for 20–30 min; avoid vigorous rinsing as instructed.
- Cold packs 10–15 min with breaks for the first day.
- No smoking/straws for 48 h; soft diet.
- Gentle hygiene; rinses/gels only if prescribed.
- If bleeding restarts: compress with gauze for 20 min; contact us if it persists.

Extraction after assessing tooth preservation
Severe pain does not automatically mean a tooth must be extracted. At MasterDent, the dentist assesses the crown, roots, supporting tissues and investigations. Root canal treatment or restoration is discussed when preservation is reasonable; otherwise surgical care may be recommended.
The procedure and need for additional imaging depend on the individual case. After extraction, instructions cover socket care, food and review. Contact the clinic to confirm availability; urgent symptoms do not mean treatment proceeds without assessment.

Must every painful tooth be removed?
No. The cause and prospects for preservation are assessed before extraction is considered.
How is extraction anesthetized?
Local anesthesia is selected using your history and its effect is checked. Report pain during the procedure.
Is an X-ray required?
The tooth position, roots and risks determine the necessary examination and imaging.
When can I eat?
Wait until numbness has resolved and follow the individual instructions about food temperature and texture.
Can I rinse on the first day?
Vigorous rinsing may disturb the clot. Follow the treating dentist’s socket-care instructions.
When does postoperative pain need review?
Increasing pain, fever, an unpleasant smell or new swelling warrants contact with the dentist.
What if bleeding restarts?
Apply firm pressure with clean slightly damp gauze over the socket for 20 minutes. Heavy or persistent bleeding needs help.
Are antibiotics always needed?
No. They are prescribed for specific indications, not routinely started without advice.
