How often should I get professional cleaning?
Every 6 months for most adults. With braces, implants or periodontal risks - every 3–4 months.
Is it painful?
Usually no. With sensitivity we use warm water, adjusted power, and topical anesthesia if needed.
AirFlow vs. ultrasound - what’s the difference?
Ultrasound breaks hard calculus; AirFlow removes biofilm and surface stains from enamel and around orthodontic or implant parts.
Any restrictions after the procedure?
For 2–3 hours avoid strong dyes (coffee, red wine, berries). Keep your routine hygiene and follow your dentist’s tips.
How long does professional cleaning take?
Typically 45–60 minutes for a standard case. Complex tartar or orthodontic appliances may extend the visit.
Is cleaning safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Yes, professional hygiene is safe and recommended. We avoid X-rays unless absolutely necessary and use gentle settings.
Can I combine cleaning with whitening the same day?
Often yes. Whitening works best right after cleaning, but the doctor will confirm based on sensitivity and enamel condition.
Will I feel sensitivity after cleaning?
Mild short-term sensitivity is possible. We can apply fluoride varnish and recommend sensitive-care toothpaste to minimize it.
Is the procedure safe with braces, veneers or implants?
Yes. Glycine AirFlow is gentle to enamel, ceramics and composites, and safe around brackets, retainers and implant abutments.
How do I maintain results at home?
Use a soft brush with proper technique, floss or interdental brushes daily, and a low-abrasive paste. Replace brush heads every 3 months.
