What a composite filling is
If an old filling has changed color or lost its seal, the tooth itself needs to be assessed first. During the examination, the dentist checks the tissues and the size of the defect, then agrees on replacement and the shape of the restoration. It is useful to discuss in advance whether the plan involves only a filling or also caries treatment underneath it.
